Mallorcan flair embedded in hilly landscape

Even celebrities from business, politics and the media are withdrawing here to escape the hectic everyday life. The typical Mallorcan village with its small streets, cafes, restaurants and shops is embedded in the eastern part of the Serres de Llevant, which are called “Massís d’Arta”. The hilly Spanish landscape with its eight mountains has its own charm and invites you to spend hours hiking. They encounter whole flocks of wild Mallorcan goats and can observe ospreys and peregrine falcons.

Fruits and vegetables from the region

Particularly noteworthy is the weekly market of Arta, which takes place on Tuesday. There you can buy not only Mallorca souvenirs and handmade goods of the island, but also fruits and vegetables of the region. In Arta, be sure to visit the ancient sanctuary of Sant Salvador in the midst of an imposing wall with nine towers.

Wild beaches and unique nature very close

On the outskirts, extensive olive and almond groves dominate the picture, giving off their wonderful scent. From here it is not far to the S’Arenal de sa Canova, one of the last wild beaches of the Balearic island. Here you will find untouched nature with wide dunes and that also in the summer months. The beaches Cala Torta, Cala Mitjana, Cala Mesquida and S’arenalet d’Albarca are particularly recommended. And if it gets too hot for you, it’s best to go to the caves Coves d’Arta.
